Yes, you can use the diploma as credit towards a degree with the Open Uni. This page will give you a bit more info on it. What subject are you interested in btw?

If your thinking of trying to claim credit with us then you will need to decide which qualification you want to end up with, the amount of credit you will receive will vary based on the subject. If you provide some further info I may be able to provide you with some more useful information.

What is your Dip HE in?

Have you looked at any of our qualifications at all?

Regarding accounting courses; we don’t really offer too many. You can claim our BA in Business Studies (code: B04) specialising in Accounting. At this point in time we are currently changing our Certificate in Accounting into a Professional Certificate in Accounting, the B04 structure is still showing the old style Certificate in Accounting. So unfortunately I’m unable to give you much more information regarding this, you may want to keep an eye on the B04 structure as it's due to change once approval is given for the new structure (planned for 2010).

We do also offer an Introduction to bookkeeping and accounting (code: B190). This is only a 10 point short course so it wont last too long and isn’t very pricy, it would also allow you to see if you enjoy the subject area.

If you’re not looking for a specific qualification the BA/BSc Open Degree (code: BD could suit your needs. The Open Degree is completely free choice meaning you would receive the maximum amount of credit transfer towards this qualification. This means that potentially you could have a small amount of study to do to claim a degree, in theory if you received 240 points of credit you would only have 1-2 years worth of study to complete.

It all depends on what you are looking to do in the future, feel free to post back to this with some more information or contact us on 0845 300 6090 to discuss your study options in more detail.

I thought I was clear saying that Id have to finish in Marketing = Dip HE in Marketing, and that im just inquiring about whether i could just finish the degree not a lesser qualification. Also colleges and universities offer 1 year top up so to 'only have 1-2 years study' isnt that little and puts me off. Thanks anyway.
