Open degree - modules for teaching

I've enrolled into OU for an open DipHe (with view to top-up to BA if I am able to), I'd like to do support teaching/HLTA as opposed to think about being a full teacher for now. If life and opportunities arise, I may!
I've chosen an open degree due to the modules in named ones being repetitive from my previous education levels which I find quite boring. I'd love to specialise in English and maybe science, which is why I've take English Lang studies as a first module. Would anyone be able to advise on their experience with the similar pathway?
