Edexcel 16/06/2010 Britain and the challenge of Fascism 1925-1960

Who did this paper? can't find manyt that did! and how did you find it?

Part A I thought was good, I did the question about if the first 2 years of the War were marked by defeat and retreat. Because it had no dates when I first looked at the question I thought it would be pre 1939, but then I figured well war broke out in 39 so it has to be then until 41.

Part B i thought was tricky, the controversy on appeasement and whether it was used to avoid War or infact as a step to War. The sources were quite hard to interpret, espescially source 8 which was just full of information about rearmament, because it had nothing to hint about Chamberlain himself.

Which sources did people cross reference with? I said source 7 and 9 were in agreement on the fact that appeasement was to avoid war, but they differed on the view of appeasement, and I had source 8 contrasted the other two, because it showed Britain were biding time for War.
