I am interested in that they threw out all the foreign policy stuff before 1940. That suggests that there'll be a question either on why Italy performed so poorly, or why Mussolini fell, or something on the aftermath of WW2. Other then that, I'm begging we get a question on Mussolini's rise to power

Yeah i think it is highly likely they ask about Italy's performance in the war and the extent to which Mussolini was responsible for that.

I doubt they could ask why Mussolini fell as I can only think of the war as a reason. Is there any others that u can think off?

100% sure a question on the fascist state (topic 3 in the spec will come up) as it such a big topic covering 15 years. Something to do with Mussolini's policies or something to do with the Popularity of the Fascist state

There are some factors you can talk about for the fall of Mussolini probably enough for them to be able to ask a question on it - obviously the war which could be focused in on either political tensions or wartime economic problems most likely, but also Mussolini's leadership (and how that resulted in opposition). You could have the anti fascist groups, the role of the king in Mussolini's dismissal and maybe the role of key fascist opposition eg. the Grand Council meeting and how they turned on him.

Yeah. Surely there will be a question on one of those three factors, seems very sus how they cut his early foreign policy. That could perhaps suggest that they won't ask a question on the popularity of the Fascist regime as well, since his early successes in his FP were a key factor in his public support. Although, that definitely isn't certain.

My teacher thinks the essay q is either on fall of Mussolini or rise of Mussolini aswell. Either one would be peeeerfect

Which specific bullet point on the specification do you think it could be? And even more specifially about what topic?

And is Mussolini's relation with the church on the advanced info. Idk if it is or not

No the Catholic Church is not on advanced info!! I hope you haven’t been revising that!

For section B, honestly I’m just guessing. I’m not sure what topic it will be.. wild guess: indoctrination of youth 🤷*♀️

Can you send me the list of questions you're doing essay plans for? I don't know what you're using, or whether you're making questions up to practice, but it would really help if I could do the same as you're doing

The consent and control has come up before a lot so i doubt it will be that. Like paper 1 every topic will come up from the advanced info. 1 topic for the source and the 2 that havent been used in the source will be given as 2 options for the essay

They’re past paper questions based on topics on the advanced info only. I don’t have an online version that I can send you sorry. My teacher only gave me a printed copy

Italy is my favourite and the easiest. I do Lancastrians and Germany and Germany is the worst for me but the paper wasn’t that bad

Mussolini's consolidation of power:
- how accurate is it to say that the undermining of the Italian parliament's role in 1922-26 was the most significant factor in the consolidation of Mussolini's power?
- to what extent was Mussolini successful in creating a totalitarian state in Italy in the period 1925-40?

consent and control
- indoctrination of population was so successful in fascist Italy that there was barely any need for use of terror in the years 1925-40. how far do you agree?

- to what extent was Mussolini's economic policy successful in the years 1926-39?
