More Java help pls!! :D

Im doing a piece of Java coursework and was wondering if there was anyone out there who might be able to help. Due to it being coursework i cant post the exact coding, but basically i have a nested while loop, the outer while loop has a return statement in after the inner while loop has completed. However a compile time error occurs, saying "unreachable statement", the compiler doesnt feel that it can get to the return statement for some reason, despite being at the end of the while loop. Can anyone think of why this might be. Either PM me or msn me on [email protected].
