try looking on the Edexcel website for a list of topics. i'm doing the 'Can different types of images trigger the fight or flight response?' My biology teachers given it a tarted up title that I can't remember.

My coursework topic was given to me, I didnt have a choice, knowing I HATE plants, my teacher decided to give me "the effect of trampling on the abundance of grassland plants" was nice of her wasnt it :|

lovely. At AS we could pick between 4 different visit reports depending on which trip we'd done.

For AS we didnt go on a trip, we simply chose a biological issue, of our choice. I done mine of the lack of treatment for ALS

some of the questions were pretty hard, and confusing such as the way the represented the reactions in photosynthesis. Other questions were relatively easy, such as the HIV questions. I think alot of people found it hard though, cos' it had alot of graph interpretation in it, therefore grade boundaries are likely to be low, 56-60/90 for an a i reckon.

I really really hope they are low...I need an A :O :'(

Well my college has very high standards and expectations, out of about 30 of us doing A2 Biology, about 3 came out saying it wasnt overly terrible, the rest have already started revising for resits. I need an A too, i could get away with a B, but then i cant go to Southampton :frown:

what r v even talkin about !! LOOOLL well duhh yeah it WAS a lymphocyte in the photo and question but the question was WHY CANT V SEE BACTERIA IN THE PHOTOGRAPH !!! so i wrote tht it may hve been eaten by a macrophage or phagocyte ! even if it isnt present in photo IT MUST VE been present in the blood !!!

Wow...lol. There's about 15 of us and our college isn't exactly the best for grades, most people are on C's I think, but everyone thought it was awful. Seriously, I'm thinking of paying for a re-sit now it went so terribly. I just really hope they are generous with the boundaries. I can't even get away with a B because my uni course is so competitive :frown: :frown: This exam has made me so depressed...

My Friends from private schools found it hard too, grade boundaries should definitely be nice! haha. what uni course is it? and same, but chemistry made it worse!
its weird because i found it to be a typical exam paper- difficult in some places easier in others, but my bio teacher was like 'oh that was reallllyy easy! and simple!'.................... No it was not.
i just know i wont get a good grade. D:
i couldnt even to the 1st Q properly. i totally forgot about satellites for the X, Y, Z question. dfejadnhc;nacsibiazudURGHHHHHH

1 mark off an A at AS is my motivation to smash biology

I was one mark off too! 239 UMS. I felt cheated! :P
I got good A's in both exams and then a C in the coursework. Still the highest in my school though, so that I can be proud of. I'll have an A in AS soon enough.
Wish you all the best!
