Small diffusion pathway to the stroma, which is where the light-independent reaction (2nd stage of photosynthesis) takes place.

stroma? dont you meant stomata or stoma ( the singular)

No, he means stroma. Stroma is an area inside of the chloroplast where reactions occur and starches (sugars) are created.

i never learnt that and i dont think it's in the cgp guide.

Cgp guide has a lack of detail really.
Its good for understanding, but not really for getting everything.

so is it on specification this stroma or w/e it is

"The appearance, ultrastructure and function of
cell wall
chloroplasts."

So it's not specifically saying "LEARN STROMA", but it would be wise to as you can mention that it contains enzymes/ribosomes and all.

I don't know, I don't have it sorry.

Edit: nevermind, yes I do. Nelsons thorne book? I'm sure it will be, just have a nosey

well what textbook do you use? it is exclusively endorsed by aqa so what textbook do you use.

The stroma is essentially the chloroplast's version of the matrix in mitochondria; aqueous fluid containing enzymes / other proteins, where reactions occur.

It is in the cap guide but it doesn't go into much detail on this area, however you don't really need to know much mo than what it is really.

Edging closer to some endosymbiotic theory here.

Describe the function of tissue fluid (4)

Give 2 structural features of veins that adapt them to their function (4)

Why are plant cell walls made out of? (1)

Why do genetic bottlenecks reduce diversity? (3)

In mitosis, name the phase in which the chromatids(chromosomes?) line up at the equator? (1)

Name 2 things that reduce diversity (Not genetic bottlenecks) (2)

Only just saw this! Thank you :hugs:
Will do them tomorrow as it is late now. :frown:

Already mentally done them, but don't want to spoil it for the rest of the TSR users.

Spoiler

.

Not sure if you want some in return but here you go anyway  (Anyone feel free to answer them too!)

1) Explain why it may be more useful to calculate the index of diversity than to record only the number of species present (2)
2) Give the 4 ways rate of transpiration can be effected (4)
3) If there are 300 amino acids in a sequence, how many bases is this? (1)
4) What is the difference between interspecific variation and intraspecific variation? (2)
5) Explain the bohr effect

5) Explain the bohr effect

1. index of diversity takes into account number of species present and number of different types of species
2. Light, temperature, humidity and wind
3.3 bases code for 1 amino acid, so 300 amino acids means 900 bases.
4.i dont know, is inter between different species and intra the difference's in the same species?
5. bohr effect something about co2 released when muscles respire so more haemoglobin goes to it and unloads o2

did i do ok

1.What is a DNA made of
2. Explain 3 main differences between mitosis and meiosis
3.explain how an antibiotic can kill/inhibit a bacteria
4. Explain the function of an xylem
