I think the radius was 5.4cm and the angle 72 degrees. so to find the shaded segment you would find the area of the whoel segment (72/360 x pie x r^2) which equals 18.32176836 - the area of the triangle and u needed to use the formula 1/2 ab Sin C = 13.86640401
18.32176836-12.858 = 4.455
i hope that's right :/

no your were meant to because you did 3-1 and 1-3 to account for all situations. I wrote 2a x 2b and 2b x 2a

so it 3/20 right then maybe?
Doesn't anyone take Mathematics B!?

I did that too, but i got 13.8664041 and not 12.858. Not sure if you're right or im right?

Little tip for percentages:
People with SF. %
OLD. 10. 100
CHANGE 30
NEW. X 130%

So what you do is. 130 divided by 100 is 1.3. So 10 times by 1.3 gives you the new answer. Always is right 100% of time and it's good for checkong

I think the next one will be harder, but 90 means you are definitely heading for an A*, high 70s in 4H will be enough
I did the maths exam last year and got an A*, when I was in Year 10, my friends who did it yesterday were saying that this was about as hard as the one I did, the maths teachers were also saying the same. In the June 2011 exam, the A* boundary was 83% so according to them, this year's will also be around that mark.
ahh I cant believe i didnt read the question properly and missed the unit change on first page :frown: and also question 18 was so hard..i know this is going to sound stupid but I'm really worried that my working won't show up or something because for the questions I did my working in pencil... arghh.. it was HB though...i really hope its ok :frown: and also for the region question did you get like a little triangle in the middle-area??

Nice! Do you guys know the grade boundaries for the last few years? I think it's never been over 85 but what's the highest it's ever been?

just wondering, i put n=10 for the question on the n sided polygon. I didnt use working out but i drew the shape instead. Any idea how many marks i will get despite little working ?

I did the exam yesterday- that was pretty tough wasnt it, especially question 16 and 18!

If you wrote n=10 you will be fine

When you have enough time to check first check that you have read and understood all the questions in any exam. That way little or no careless mistake arises
