i would do this:

RHS : use the 2cos(nx) identity you ahve there, expand lots of stuff and simplify

Or if you want to start from the LHS then you can write:
2^6 cos^6(x) = (z + 1/z)^6
and similarly for sine.

Then expand and use the identities again.
