Hello
I'm a podiatry student and I would love to try convince you that podiatry is one the best courses around, but I'm in a hurry so I will be brief. Podiatry is fascinating subject blending bio mechanics and clinical medicine, expect to become an expert in the lower-limb, its medical challenges and their management. Pods can do everything, therapeutic clinical biomechanics, wound care, surgery and now even prescribe medicines (some with postgrad quals). Its a blend of many sciences with a diverse range of specialisms. I have worked with post grad pure biomechanists and I think many of them wish they could interact and an treat patients the way pods do, as if you graduate in biomechanics you are largely confined to working in research, where as pods have a choice - research or clinical work.... Orthosists are the kings of clinical biomechanics though...
feel free to ask any questions and I will try to get back to you!
Ps Nutrition is a nice and interesting choice, but dietetics is better as again its clinical with many NHS employed dieticians. Nutritionists are not regulated like dieticians, and accordingly are confined in the environments they can work in.
