Leaving IT Role For Uni

I'm currently working at a large IT consultancy firm as a Junior System Admin, using Unix and SQL, with some programming experience. I have got into UWE to study computing based on my industry experience. I'm unsure of whether it would be a wise decision to leave my steady job to get a degree? I'm not sure how fast my career would advance in 3/4 years compared to how it would be as a graduate.

I have to make a decision by March so opinions would be great!

Perhaps you could look into distance learning so you didn't have to quit your job?

I would, but my work wouldn't sponsor me and if I was to go to Uni I'd want to do it properly if you know what I mean? Like full time etc.
