study for free or cheaply

hello

I am a EU citizen and I want to study for free a natural science like chemistry, biology, or something like that.

I want to study without having to pay 1,000 euro per month for accomodation and food

the amount is enormous for my standards and I can only spend 300 euro max per month

is there a solution for this? is there any support?

thanks

You can easily study in the UK, spending 350 pounds a month in food, accommodation and bills.

300 Euros would be pushing it anywhere, considering that is only 75 Euros a month. That's, what just over £65 to cover food, accommodation and bills? Good luck.

I suppose it's just about possible in the UK, if you live in the cheapest accommodation and aren't ridiculous with energy usage (and also have a basic, plain diet of low value food) but it won't be much of a life.

Perhaps not what you're looking for but there's the rather exciting new world of online courses: the best universities in the world are putting their entire courses online for free! (I'm at university studying physics and I much prefer to use these :P)

MIT's got some of the best

AcademicEarth puts them in one place

Coursea's pretty great too

Of course, you'll not be able to receive a formal qualification yet - but that'll change in the not too distant future.

The open university may be a cheap solution to getting your qualifications

You can also consider student loans - often you only have to pay them back once you get a job after you finish your studies.

Ofcourse I would, but having a loan with interest, of 3x9,000GBP on my back, is something I would like to avoid
