To do better in a chemistry degree (well, this applies to any degree really) than how you did in a level? Im worried that if I dont get any A*s this year then im not good enough to get a first...

Even with all a* theres no guarantee you'd get a first. You just gotta work hard.

I am feeling the same - i want to go to university to study aerospace engineering - i can manage AAA fine but i don't know whether i can get any A*'a hence i don't know whether i will be able to manage it :frown:

I didn't get an A at A-level (no A* in my day) and I got a first. Study is very different at university and it certainly suited me to be a bit more independent, but you will need to buckle down and put the work in.
