Eligible for EU fees?

Hi!

I was wondering how would you interpret the following sentence, taken from the website of an Irish University:

"An EU student is defined as an EU national (i.e. holding an E.U. passport/or birth certificate) who has been ordinarily resident* in an EU member state for at least three of the five years immediately preceding their entry to the third level course." * 'ordinarily resident' excludes residency for educational purposes.

I've been living in Croatia my entire life (so, over 3 years). But the country itself has been part of the EU for barely a month. Would that make me an EU national?

You may have to get in touch with them directly. I don't know if there are any entry restrictions: e.g. Romanians & Bulgarians not getting complete free movement until next January despite joining the EU many years ago. If there are no such restrictions, I would expect you should be allowed, as you've lived in Croatia for over three years.
