Multiplying cubic polynomial by ...

"IF a cubic polynomial is multiplied by one of degree 5 what is the degree of the product?

I genuinely have no idea how to work this out, it's probably something simple I've been taught in class but rephrased a different way... can someone explain how I'm meant to go about this? :s-smilie:

I imagine this is just the wording that is throwing you

I am sure that you know what x3×x5x^3 \times x^5 is
