MONTREAL, Nov. 14, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - Bell Media announced today that its newest specialty service Investigation will launch on Thursday, December 12. Focusing on the world of crime and investigation and forensic techniques, the new channel further enhances Bell Media's position as a leader in French-language specialty TV in Québec.

"Bell Media is dedicated to offering the best of French-language television and we are delighted to fulfill this commitment with the launch of Investigation," said Charles Benoît, President, TV and Radio, Québec, Bell Media. "With this new service, we are able to provide Quebecers with even more quality programming."

Drawing on the expertise and success of Canal D - one of Québec's most popular specialty channels - Investigation will present crime series like never before seen in French Canada. The channel aims to provide a captivating look at the gripping twists and turns of real criminal investigations.

Bell TV and Bell Fibe will launch Investigation with a "freeview" for all subscribers beginning Dec. 12. Additional television providers will be announced soon.

Additional information about Investigation and its programming will be unveiled at an official launch event in early December.

About Investigation
Investigation invites viewers into the fascinating world of forensics and police investigations. Through exciting and entertaining fact-based programming, it reveals the exciting twists of genuine criminal investigations and the worst of human nature.

One of things that fascinates me about Quebec is that, despite having only 8 million residents, it produces the vast majority of its TV itself- and a lot of it is quality TV. This is partly because the French spoken in France isn't understood in Quebec, but also because the Quebecois fiercely protect their culture from the mainstream North America.
