How many GCSEs are you getting?

I'm not entirely sure what all the fuss about how many GCSEs you're getting is about. At my public school we can get around 10-12 GCSEs overall and I personally am looking at 11.

What is the average number of GCSEs elsewhere? How many are you taking?

English Language
English Literature
Science
Additional Science
Maths
Further Maths
History
French
ICT1
ICT2
Business Communications
Morals & Ethics (half gcse)

I was taking:
Triple science
Maths
English Language
English literature
ICT
RE
Spanish
History
If I was to pass them all (C's and above) I would get 11 GCSE's, plus I did a IGCSE English exam at the end of year 9 and I got a C in that so if I was to include that I would overall have 12.

I'm taking 12 overall. I took 3 early though, 1 in year 9 and 2 in year 10.
I'll have 9:

Maths
English language
Media
Core Science
Add. Science
French
Religious Studies
Art
Photography

And a extended Btec in ICT (apparently worth 2 gcses)

I took eng lang and core science in yr 10 so 2/9 complete.

I did IGCSE English last year and this year I'm doing 13 GCSEs including Further Maths so I'll have 14 in total..
Most other people in my school are taking about 9 or 10.
12.5 (counting the short courses as half) but 14 actual subjects.

I'll have 13;

Biology, chemistry, English literature, English language, French, further maths, history, maths, music, photography, physics, statistics and core science.

I took maths in year 9 so had time to do statistics and further maths as well and we did core science exams last year for some reason so I have 4 science GCSEs.

Chem, Biology, Physics, English Lit, English Lang, Maths, Art, Spanish, History, RS, RE Short course and ICT, so 11.5

I am getting 11. Private grammar school, so you can see there is not real fuss!

I am doing:
-(IGCSE) Double Science award (2 sciences, only 2 GCSES out of it)
-(IGCSE) Maths
-English Language
- English Literature
- French
- Product Design
- Business Studies
- Religious Studies
- Geography

And I did Chinese GCSE in Year 10 outside of school.

- IGCSE are international GCSES and are considered harder than normal GCSES but still worth just one GCSE

There are quite a few people who have taken their GCSEs in year 9 it seems - I had no idea this was an option! Is this common?

I don't know. There wasn't many people in my school who did it. Only the top set so I don't think many people do. You're not allowed to do it anymore though
I'm getting:

Maths
English Language
(IGCSE) English Literature
Core Science
Additional Science
History
Spanish
Fine Art
(BTEC) PE - supposed to be worth 2 GCSEs apparently (my bum it is)
FSMQ Additional Maths

That's 8 GCSEs, 1 BTEC (which is pointless, really), and an FSMQ.
Unless I majorly mess up, I'll get 12:

English Lit
English Lang
Maths
Further Maths
Triple Science (3 gcses)
RS
History
German
Geography
Applied Business
13 overall

3 sciences
Maths
Further maths
English language
English literature
French
Chinese
Geography
RS
Art
Graphics

8.5 (Private school)

Maths
IGCSE English lang
IGCSE Biology
English Lit
Latin
Textiles
Drama
French

+ HPQ (1/2 a GCSE)

Most people do 9.5 at my school, but it was 'suggested' to a few of us that we shouldn't continue certain subjects beyond year 10, so I don't do chemistry. I'm predicted all A*/A so I doubt number makes much of a difference? Its a bit unfair to discriminate based on number of subjects as its not like you can really choose....
I'm getting 11:

English Literature
English Language
Maths
Further Maths (it's really an AQA Level 2 Certificate)
Core Science
Additional Science
Further Additional Science
German
Religious Studies
History
Business Studies

English Language
English Literature
Biology
Chemistry
Physics
Maths
History
Sociology
Philosophy and Ethics
Applied Business
RE
Spanish
IT
Media Studies

14 overall

16, plus L2 Further Maths, L2 Enterprise and Employability, and a Higher Project.

So 18.5 (or 19, I'm not sure how they translate)
