What challenges face asset managers/ hedge funds when banks fail to lend money ?

Hi everyone,

I have been provided with a question from my finance lecturer, of which can be viewed as quite an intricate question. He has proposed I answer this question "What challenges do you think asset managers and private equity firms face when banks fail to lend money to businesses?".

Is anyone here an expert in the field? Would appreciate the help!
