OCR PHYSICS B fracture area

on the 2010 paper it says 'calculate the fracture area created during this process'...but we were never given an equation for working this out and it's not on the formula booklet.

are we supposed to know it?

What information are you given??

This course is just dreadful, I've kind of given up caring about what's taught from the book/during lessons because the exams have their own idea of what we should know

Looks like a unit question, as thats deffinately not in what we've been taught. Try figuring it outby looking at the units

Here

Just take a look at the units of the fracture toughness, should be obvious how to work it out from that.

It's common sense, you shouldn't need to be taught it.
