As in, are you both guys? Are you both straight? Was it out of nowhere or a part of a conversation? How close are you? How long have you known each other? How old are you both? How exactly did he say it? Body language? Tone of voice? Are either of you in a relationship? Where were you when it happened? How many times has he said it?

I could go on. We can't help you unless we know details because context is pretty much everything.

The last person that said that to me had a huge crush on me. I'd ask what they meant.
