Muscle contraction

Do calcium ions diffuse into the muscle cell fro contraction when they are released by the sarcoplasmic reticulum?
Yes they do, the sarcoplasmic reticulum are the intracellular store of calcium ions in a muscle cell. These release calcium which bind to troponin, clearing the way for myosin to bind to actin and hence muscle contraction
