Does our hair keep our brains warm?

Do humans have large amounts of hair on their heads in order to keep their brain warm? Or is there another reason for why we have such long head hair?

I was just wondering really...

Off the top of my head ( :colone:

), without doing any research there are several reasons:
~A lot of heat escapes through our head. The hair helps keep our head warm as you have said
~As we walk up right, our scalps are exposed to the sun. Hair protects our scalps from sun damage, which is especially important considering our brain size..
~We seem to be attracted to a nice head of hair. It could be a means to attract a mate. As we get older and are less suitable to mate, we lose our hair and/or our hair turns grey.

These are just brainstorming examples. There are probably exceptions. Without doing any hard research, I can't give you a definite answer :redface:
