Half the problems and conflicts in the world today are the by products of Western colonialism and interventionism.

The Indian civilisation is one of the longest surviving civilisation - from 3500 BC till now - and throughout its history (prior to being colonised), India enjoyed golden periods of prosperity.

The quest for wealth and power brought Europeans to Indian shores. This is enough to tell you how developed India was son that time. I see it as an invasion, . They didn't invade India for first 50 years. They had limited rights and they could only do limited business. They had to abide by the kings rule. It's later when they got more greedy.

1 They closed down all the schools system upon invading
2 They took land from the farmers and forced them to grow things which would sell in England
3 Put heavy taxes on the farmers, so they starved to death.
4 Took right away from women because at that time England didn't allow women to have any rights.
5 Started their English based schooling system which was only open to people they allowed. people who did what they wanted them to do.
7 They re- wrote our history where they gave all the credit to Europeans. they took credit of Sanskrit which is prov and to be the best language for computers. they took thee credit for writing Vedh. They took credit of making amazing buildings.

There are more Indians and Pakistanis in the uk than there were british people in India and Pakistan. Not to mentioned what the british empire contributed to these countries and the rest of the third world such as modern science, engineering, infrastructure, industry, medicine and medical tech etc etc.

not to mention the aid the we give to these countries every year and have done for the last 50 years

As for the comments regarding Indian people living in the UK, these are uncalled for and have an unpleasant whiff about them. There is a lot of bitterness in the UK at the moment because our previous government allowed immigration on a massive scale and this has upset the social balance here. The anger should be directed at the British government for doing this, rather than at the people that have come to the UK to settle.

How about the $10 Billion EU aid India gave which you happily took your British share of. Might I also take this opportunity to remind you that India is the fourth largest investor in UK providing thousands of jobs, also Indian companies are turning your financial blackholes like Jaguar-Landrover etc into profit making ventures with better corporate management.

India has made massive gains in all sectors after independence but the massive population increase makes it increasingly harder to maintain standards of living. Indeed providing food, water, shelter etc. to 1.2 billion people in India is the biggest problem that the world needs to solve. I am sure current UK government would have struggled to do so if UK had the same population size. Even the Chinese system's heavy handed approach would not work in India since it would lead to disintegration of the nation. What India has managed to do is nothing short of a miracle.

The brits can't face the facts that India is no more the milking cow of the Union Jack and that we are doing rather well without their Queen ruling us
