The Student Room Group

Out of a night when it's raining

So it's pissing down with rain and a night out is planned.

The following wont work:
1. Taxi to town would cost too much
2. Taking a jacket as no bar in town has a cloak room (as far as I know).

The only jacket I have with a hood are zip up hoodies and I don't think they're suited for a night out personally.

My current plan is to just go out, not bother too much about it and hope I don't get too wet.

Any ideas?
bus?
Stay in and read a book.

To and from the bus is like a 5 - 10 minute walk, but that's the plan anyway.

You don't have to be antisocial to read a book.

Take a bag and a really compact umbrella?
If you're drunk enough you won't notice how cold/wet it is.

I'm a guy, I should really add that to my profile.

I did this in the end, wasn't great but ah well.
I know someone that has a specific night out jacket. It's a really cheap one that she doesn't like that much so she just shoves it behind a chair or something and it doesn't matter if it gets lost.
Does a compact umbrella really bother too much?
Given that you said "out of a night" rather than "out on a night" you are obviously from Yorkshire in which case stop being so nesh about the weather you soft tart.
