They will not be impressed by a 10 year old hacker who probably learnt how to hack the Xbox off Youtube... :P Or they might wonder what you could do to their system now you're 18. They don't want an 18 year old Computer Scientist who likes to hack into stuff haha.

By mentioning something you did when you were 10, the university will assume you don't have anything more recent worth talking about. Even if you're including it in a "fun anecdote" kind of way, you could probably find something more relevant to talk about. The general advice is that it's not worth mentioning anything from before your GCSEs.

edit: You're also the second person to make a thread like this in the last week or so, so mentioning it probably won't make you stand out in the way you think it will.
