University sports team initiations?

I've just joined one of the netball teams at my uni and after practice they told us we (freshers) would get initiated sometime soon. A girl asked what it meant and they just said tonnes of drinking and some "secretive stuff" we'd find out when we were doing it.

I was talking to a med student the other day who said she got initiated into something to do with med-school and that she doesn't remember anything past drinking at the start but apparently her flatmates found her sprawled half naked and covered in food outside their flat after losing her keys and going back alone.

I'm not too worried about the alcohol because the team captain said that the drinking wouldn't be forced (I don't drink much) but after googling initiations it looks like a lot of humiliating stuff really like being forced to eat gross foods, stripping and other random stuff which does kinda worry me :/
