Not eligible to apply for student finance, what should I do?

Hi,
I've been living in England for 9 years and have recently received discretionary leave to remain in the U.K.
I spoke to a representative for the student finance company and was told I'm not eligible to apply for student finance. I really want to continue my education but I don't know how I'm going to fund it.
can someone please tell me where I can get some help from for this or know someone who can help me?
