Is anyone finding web browsing in halls crap recently?

The internet works fine and doesn't disconnect but specifically web browsing keeps cutting off every 5 mins or so for about 30 seconds. It's been happening for about a day now :frown:

I'm in Wells by the way, is happening in Wantage too.

All in all the internet connection at this uni is appalling. Even in the computer labs where you'd expect to get the best speeds. Our tuition fees go on something but it certainly isn't IT.

Its only seemed to happen on saturday here in bridges so far, but you can still talk on msn, download things etc..

It was really messing up yesterday, but today it is 100% perfect.

Not really: I was online at 4am earlier and it was still acting terribly, cutting out every 30 seconds. But now, when I am sure the usage of the Uni's internet system is higher, it is working finely.

I've been having a similar problem and I'm at Bulmershe, I've just put it down to the number of people using the internet.

But it really shouldn't matter how many people are using the net, surely that should be the main consideration when designing and maintaining the network. W00t!
