"Grammar" universities?

Should some unis like oxbridge, LSE be considered "grammar" universities while others like the former polys be considered "secondary modern" universities?
There already are several ways to categorising them.

'Research university' versus 'comprehensive university'; 'ancient university' versus non-ancient university.

The only problem (which will be the same problem calling them 'grammar') is that every university calls themselves a 'research university' as a result; and that there are too many exceptions to consider ancient and non-ancient seriously.
Wth is a grammar university mate, we ain't 14 anymore.
The ones that behave like "Grammar" universities I would say are Oxbridge, Imperial, LSE, UCL, Durham and St Andrews.
