Where in Europe should I visit - 21st?

It is my 21t birthday at the beginning of July. I'm trying to organise somewhere to go for me and my mates in Europe.

It'll be me and a group of lads but we are sort of over the whole cheesy/tacky lads holidays (so not zante, magaluf etc).

We are wanting somewhere warm, maybe some sporty stuff to do, a bit more chilled out. We don't mind a bit of nightlife but something that isnt full of chavs basically. Somewhere with a nice pool would be good.

We were thinking possibly a Greek island (but not one of the tacky ones). But this may be a bit expensive and possibly quiet/dull. Any other recommendations for my 21st? We were thinking 4-7 days.

Greece and the greek islands are very hot in July, they're much better for earlier summer holidays. Depends on what your budget is, but the south of france is lovely on the Cote D'Azur with Cannes, Nice and Monaco all being great places. Sporty stuff to do? What are you looking for?
depends on ur budget, you could go to the nicer parts of places like zante, get a villa but still have to option to travel into the night life area? I know its further away but it can be as cheap to go to Tunisia or Egypt for a week
I would suggest u look on the Thomson (u can select a few different destinations using their search thing, and can search multiple airports and 5-7 day holidays) or Thomas cook websites for ideas and prices? as they have hotels near the nightlife areas but you can choose a hotel which isn't in the 18-30 hotel grouping and therefore a much nicer place to stay plus u can get all inclusive places for under £500 for a week for some 4* places each therefore ur drink costs overall will be cheaper
if ur a game of thrones fan then Croatia is best
otherwise what about a city? Amsterdam?
Hey there!

Go to Dubrovnik! It's an absolute gem!

The city itself is rammed with culture, so it balances out the clubbing scene. There is stacks to do, particularly lots of activities - highlight would have to be taking kayaks around the city. I have never done it - but have always wanted to!

It's easy and cheap to get to as well!

I hope this helps!

Done Dubrovnik already. It was amazing but I think I want to go somewhere I've never been before.

Amsterdam looks good. We've also considered a road trip in America with maybe 1 big night in Vegas (although this option is very pricey)

If you're planning to travel through Europe then i would highly recommend Getwayz. It's a coach comparison site with providers such as megabus, national express, terravision, etc. It has a flexible calendar search feature that finds deals as low as £1.Hope this helped
Barcelona? Amsterdam (although it can be lively)...Berlin?
Honestly, give the Czech Republic, Romania and Bulgaria a go. If you're on a lads holiday then Sunny Beach is the obvious answer as its extremely cheap, full of hot women and there is a lot to do.

Not wanting the whole lads holiday thing at all. Been there done that and it's a bit tacky. We aren't looking to get off our heads drunk and be hanging the whole of the next day sort of thing. More somewhere with a bit going on but slightly more classy. The people I'm going with act a bit older than 21 even though we do like our nights out and stuff.

Simple answer then, Prague.

Prague, Berlin, Barcelona
since its a week how about a road trip around Europe instead? or train or bus? u could get inter-rail tickets?
it truly depends on budget to be honest as u can choose somewhere as a base for ur holiday then do day trips etc?
if u willing to go to the USA then your willing to travel a bit further, i.e. there's always Dubai? try looking on the holiday place too for ideas and prices?
South of France (Nice or Lyon), Valencia & Lisbon all seem good

Which would be best for us?

Looking for:
- Warm weather yet not scorching/energy draining in early july
- Not tourists every place you look (we want to feel the culture around us)
- Affordable
- Beach
- Lots of things to do around the area
I'd recommend Lisbon & the surrounding coast. I stayed in Cascais, which had several beaches, and wasn't too far from Guincho beach, which is one of the most famous beaches for surfing & other watersports in Europe, so there should be plenty to do in addition to just swimming in the sea. Cascais also has a free bike scheme so you could go exploring.

There's a local train to Lisbon that runs along the coast, it takes about 40 minutes but has stunning views, and you can get off at numerous stops to check out other beaches, or areas of Lisbon e.g. around the explorations statue that are a bit outside the centre. Lisbon itself is a great city with tons to do. Nearby Cascais is Estoril, which has a casino, and a long history of sheltering exiled royalty. You could also visit Sintra, with its royal palaces connected with the Portuguese monarchy. I didn't find Portugal that expensive either.

I don't know how touristy it is in high summer, I was there in early September and it wasn't too bad. To be honest, I think all of the places you listed will have lots of tourists, it's unavoidable, especially as you also want 'lots of things to do in the area', and a beach- all of these things attract other people! However, around Lisbon isn't stereotypically touristy, with high-rise apartments/hotels etc., and Magaluf-style clubs. It seems, from what I saw, to be quite family-oriented, with lots of restaurants etc., and pubs as well. You will encounter other visitors though, I think almost everywhere sunny with a stretch of coastline in Europe will have tourists in July

Lisbon is quality. Tons of bars and locals mingle with foreigners. Rock bottom prices. You could easily go somewhere like Cascais and get the train around.
San Sebastian- amazing weather, great surfing, beautiful food and aweosme nightlife. Ticks so many boxes

Yeah Sunny beach is a great option if you are 21. It is really cheap, the bulgarian girls are gorgeous and also you can shop all day and party all night like a beast. And do not forget that Sunny beach is very close to Burgas which is one of the largest cities in Bulgaria and it is also on the Black sea coast. varna is around 100 km away and you can always find some way to go there.
