Scale Help

I have a drawing of a room. On the top of the paper it says the scale is 1:55.

The length of the room at its widest is 14cm
The width of the room at its widest is 13cm

The measurements of an A4 piece of paper is 30 x 21cm

The question is as follows:

Work out the real measurements of each wall (done that)
Find a better scale to use with A4 as the scale 1:55 doesn't maximise the available space on A4

What does this mean?

(I have posted this here as there is more chance of a response)
