No offence but arts subjects ARE easy. You can ask any Engineering student to use a camera or write an essay, and they will probably do a decent job at it with zero training. If you were asked to design an airplane, change a lung or write a non-trivial piece of software, you probably wouldn't know where to start.
Paper airplane competition and multiple sessions playing operation, last day of the year in primary school.

that is pretty confusing, so either a doctor or a lawyer or anyone who can knock up some amazing desserts( which with practice any woman could:P ) although they do say the way to a mans heart is through his stomach

I do see your point. Maybe using a camera isn't life changing and they could do an okay job but not at all to the standard or television or getting anywhere. They wouldn't know how to compose a shot, frame it, edit it, colour grade it. They wouldn't know how to record sound, mix it and so on. It is under appreciated just because it isnt exactly helping anyone or anything like engineers and doctors are etc.
Also those courses tend to be linked to other things too such as journalism and English language so it's not all easy peasy no work at all. You have tons of essays to do on things you couldn't even imagine possible.
