ISIS a western conspiracy?

ISIS is basically a civil war within the Muslim faith. A few none Muslims are killed but the majority of people killed and displaced by ISIS are other Muslims.

An explanation of why is ISIS is a creation of the West to weaken and eventually eliminate Islam. The clever part is its Muslims killing each other which elicits far less reaction and condemnation from Muslims than if it were none Muslims killing Muslims.

Its interesting most of the people going from the UK to join ISIS do so because they reject western values rather than like Islamic ones.

Of course there was a conspiracy here, several in fact. However not in the direction you are taking it.

12 years ago a large coalition of states led by the US decided, most likely for geopolitical reasons, to remove the regime of Saddam Hussein. In doing so they dismantled a state that had stayed secure despite nearly a decade of economic sanctions aimed at strangling the life out of the country and whipping up social destruction. As a result the years following saw absolute chaos that allowed several different groups to exist and flourish in a lawless atmosphere.

Jump ahead 8 years and we see outside groups taking advantage of discontent in Syria in an attempt to remove another regime in order to dismantle yet another bulwark against western hegemony (aka US hegemony). States like Saudi Arabia ship in foreign fighters and weapons whilst countries such as the US and the UK provide money, political support and 'non-lethal aid' to these 'rebels' whom they unanimously declare secular and motivated by liberal and democratic ideals. It turns out that this was a bit of a stretch (to put it lightly) as overnight we are suddenly sold this story of ISIS as if they organized and slipped in over night (though only when western interests in the North of Iraq were under threat.)

Seeing this unfold in 2014 was a bit like the scene in 1984 when the enemy is changed in front of peoples very eyes. Instead of rationally thinking "hold up, this isn't right", we all just follow where we are directed. Literally overnight the Free Syrian Army became ISIS and yet no-one blinked.

Anyway, thats your conspiracy. Nothing more than regime change and short sighted policy. The people at the very top don't worry themselves with sectarian goals in so far as killing Muslims etc. Sectarian beliefs and conflicts are only a tool to them in order to divide and conquer. Having a global system with them firmly established at the helm and every other state playing by their norms, regardless of the consequences for the average person.
