Ok if you think about it there are six places:

1st place: You have three choices of red
2nd place: You have three choices of yellow
3rd place: You have two choices of red (one is already used in the 1st place)
4th place: You have two choices of yellow (one is already used in the 2nd place)
5th place: You have one choice of red (two used up)
6th place You have one choice of yellow (two used up)

This gives you 36 possibilities but since you started with red, you can also start with yellow. So its 36 times 2 = 72

It seems really difficult from these questions! So far I've only done the 2014 one and the 2010.. I should probably do more papers soon

Hahaha I have spent at least an hour on it... so close to giving up :frown: It's from Section 1 of the 2010 paper! It's kind of deceptively hard :/

did you actually do this without your calculator?
seems so lengthy when you don't have that much time

i thought just take the LCM of these two but apparently need to half it. I don't yet understand why to half it?
