Most people find that 6 weeks of preparation is enough for each exam. This may vary per person, but it's what worked for me. The BMAT is in mid October. So you want to start revising for it in early September. You also want a couple of weeks off in between UCAT and BMAT prep, so I would book your UCAT for early/mid August and start revision 6 weeks before the date (so pretty soon tbh). The most important thing is to avoid burn out and to give yourself a decent break between doing the UCAT and starting BMAT work. I hope this helps.

Some good advice given already so wont add to that, but i would also suggest planning your summer out , including UCAT, personal statements, UCAS application forms BMAT etc and some time off. And see how it all shakes down. UCAT booking starts next week so have a plan through now.

Also join the undergrad and UCAT sticky threads for hints and tips.

Its always good to have an idea of where you might like to go, but the most important thing is to apply strategically. Once you have your UCAT score post on the which medical school sticky thread and see what the experts think of your plans and what other advice they might provide. You can be strategic with your UCAT options but not so much with your BMAT as its after you submit your form. If you do magnificently in the UCAT for example you may decide its not worth the risk of BMAT choices.

Either way, good luck.
