I'll be doing mechanical engineering at Bristol (starting this September).

I've heard that it's 9 to 5 every day except Wednesday?! Is this true?!

Also, is there a lot of practical work? I prefer writing, doing maths, working on a computer, etc, than actual practical work. (By practical I suppose I mean like the A-level physics experiments, where you have to put something together or use apparatus to take readings etc)
I went on a Headstart summer school

I know at Imperial there's quite a big emphasis on practical work. Not sure about bristol, but I imagine they'll be quite a few lab classes form the machinery I've seen
