Pornhub, Redtube and Spankwire could be made illegal by the Tories

They could be gone within monthsYou’re favourite free porn sites could be shut by the government if age restrictions aren’t put in place.Free sites like Pornhub, Redtube and Spankwire could soon be banned, or made illegal, if they fail to install age verification software. In a statement, David Cameron said: “I want to see age restrictions put into place or these websites will face being shut down.”Legislation could be brought in to make it an offence to publish porn without age controls. The Government complains the UK’s popular porn sites don’t have “robust age verification”, suggesting to deny underage access through means such as payment providers. The Government will shut down porn sites if they don’t bring in age controlsThis restriction on the industry comes months after The British Board of Film Censors outlawed a list of potentially “life-endangering” sexual acts, such as fisting, spanking and female ejaculation.British porn producers now can’t make adult material to be sold in shops. Until now, the banned porn was easily available on free websites like Porn Hub and Red Tube. The Government want to make sure “the rules that apply offline apply online”, as DVD sales have more effective age controls. In autumn, the Government will consult the most effective ways of regulating the sites to deny access to children, before deciding which will be regulated or banned.Joanna Shields, the minister for internet safety and security said: “Whilst great progress has been made, we remain acutely aware of the risks and dangers that young people face online.“This is why we are committed to taking action to protect children from harmful content. Companies delivering adult content in the UK must take steps to make sure these sites are behind age verification controls.”

porn should be banned, it ruins society; ie. fake fantasies, marriage breakdowns, becoming anti social, possible links to crimes and child pornography/child abuse etc etc
and what? there are and always will be ways around "bans".
Kids today have no idea how easy they have it, back in my day had to mute the tv during the day so when i put it on at night (when the parents were asleep) to watch late night channel 5 .
Porn now is crazy, constantly pushing boundries, some videos are all out just sick.. some tickle that naughty side, so I agree there needs to be some sort of legislation to protect impressionable people who may think all women enjoy rape and triple penetration whilst being choked.

Do novels, movies, and TV shows not create 'fake fantasies'?
Mumsnet will be celebrating any extra nannying by the state. They're far too busy reading 50 Shades of Grey and pondering over baby names to take responsibility for their children.
It is an unworkable idea. Cameron has no idea how modern technology works. Next he will be saying that he is going to ban the internet.

And then he'll claim that crime still exists offline, and so the next step is to ban everything.

This can't be real. They didn't even spell "your" correctly.

Guess I'll be breaking even more laws if this is true though.
Oh well la la la life goes on.

Correlation does not equal Causation, so you have no point to make here

It's a completely sensible idea? If something is strictly 18+ it shouldn't be so simple to access.
Porn ruins people anyway in the sense that it desensitises young males, so that when many of them actually go on to have sex they get erectile dysfunction, it's a real growing problem now with this new generation, look it up.
If we're going to have legislation to stop 14-year-olds from watching Notting Hill at the cinema then we should obviously also take measures to stop 9-year-olds from watching mass gangbangs on the internet.
the damage cannot be undone

I'm sure little Bobby is trembling.
Banning all porn is firstly impossible. There are ways to get around those restrictions I'm sure.

Porn should be banned anyway, on account of how tacky it is. Seriously, you might as well burn my retinas out of my skull and have done with it.

You should try tugging yourself off with only the aid of your own imagination, without looking at any form of media outlet - which would mean you'd be exercising another part of your body that requires regular care and attention. Win-win situation, really. Think of it as a sort of challenge, and make the fantasies become uglier each time and see how long it takes for you to shoot your bolt gun.
