Good from Fabregas wrt the goal.
Jose: 'I left out Hazard because we are conceding lots of goals. Willian and Pedro did amazing defensive work.'
Reply 382
Despite our goals being predominantly via Ivanovic's side where Hazard is not defending and Willian is meant to be the one doing defensive work?

He's full of **** he just dropped him because he needed a rest and wanted to criticize.

Also I guess a wins a win but we were not at all impressive today.
Wonder how long Sherwood has left at Villa

Tbh, if they actually cared they shouldn't have given him the job full time, he's not manager for a permanent position.

I can see why they did, he kept them up and had them playing some good football at times. Losing the entire spine of their team (Vlaar, Cleverley, Delph and Benteke) has been a huge body blow though and they've replaced them with a load of old stagers past their best, or young players without any experience of the Premier League. Just reminds me of teams like Fulham, Boro and Charlton who did the same the year they went down.

I'll be amazed if he's still in the job on Christmas Day.
Chelsea only really won convincingly today because Villa were awful (and even then, Villa were on top for first 20 mins). Our next games are West Ham away, Liverpool at home then Stoke away. At this rate, I'd be surprised if we won any of them.

nearly midtable
Yep, getting there (though surely 11th is by definition mid table?).

We are midtable atm.

Despite our ****ty start we are only 2 points behind liverpool, 3 points behind spurs which we will most likely take off head to head so top 4 is not a concern in the slightest.

City and United play next week so we win our next game then we will catch ground regardless of the result and we know for a fact when injuries hit West Ham they're going to slide right down the table.

I don't think our win was in any way convincing but you need to start a run from somewhere.
Loftus-Cheek and Rahman...do they have futures?

I thought the latter was very sporadic on the ball, and lacked positional awareness from what I saw. But, he's young and he has every right to be nervous.
Guess we won't be seeing RLC start a run of fixtures as Mourinho previously alluded to given his recent comments.

How can Mourinho criticise Hazard and RLC for not doing enough defensively and yet play Cesc and Ivanovic week in week out. Villa legitimately looked more dangerous on the attack than we did on Saturday and we were lucky to win from a GK mistake and a fluke OG, we shouldn't need to play defensive wingers against this current Aston Villa team ffs.

Getting quite pissed off with Mourinho now tbh, poor results and bizarre team selections are one thing but his comments just **** me off now.

Sooo, can Jose go a full presser without mentioning my man Arsene? #Voyeur #SpecialistInBeingAPrick

Rahman looked much better last time I saw him, wonder if Jose showing no faith in him has affected him - looked like a man with absolutely zero confidence, rather than lack of ability. Some people are weaker than others psychologically like that, I thought Jose was the sort that knew when to give the carrot and when to give the stick, but recently that does not seem the case at all.
So Hazard liking posts on instagram of links to Real Madrid.

Not very clever. Who would Roman side with out of Hazard and Jose if the **** really did reach breaking point?

I know right. I guess he thinks RLC and Hazard can do better but Cesc and Ivanovic can't.

Also I had a funny thought the other day, in some parallel universe Begovic, Ivanovic, Cahill and Zouma are key players in a Stoke side that finishes midtable every year.

Yeah I've not bothered with this bull**** in all honesty. He's been feeding this bull**** since he's come here.

I can see why he tried going more defensively vs Villa though as Terry is in the team and Villa have a decent amount of pace with Grealish and Ayew but there's no point criticising RLC when he's much better than Cesc defensively. Then there's him complaining about how Matic uses the ball. Or the fact that Ramires and Fabregas is a **** defensive midfield pairing and were regularly causing spaces between the CMs and CBs(especially when Fabregas was left as the DLP half the time because of Ramires' poor positioning.

Why don't we try Matic and Ramires tbh. Don't see any harm in that combo.
(edited 8 years ago)
Would have thought that was the ideal combo.
Both compliment each other well and Ramires has the fitness/energy to cover 2 people, unlike Fabregas as everyones already highlighted.

Mourinho will end up selling Matic and Hazard before getting sacked.
Mourinho's the type of guy who would drop Messi for not tracking back enough.
It will be better for Hazard's development anyway to move away, he will never score more than 20 goals a season with Mourinho being the manager. No chance. Funny how so many talented players are somehow not good enough / hardworking enough to start games. De Bruyne, Schurrle, Mata, Bertrand, Lukaku were never given a run of games yet the the likes of Torres, Mikel and an ageing Cole at the time were permanent starters. Same thing is happening now with Matic, bearing the blame for Ivanovic and Fabregas' incompetence. RLC should leave and go and become the excellent player he will be. He can drive, score goals, create, defend, physical presence and excellent hunger. Won't do it with Mourinho tho. Just give him the pay-cheques so he can keep buying German/Spanish/Brazilian teenage versions of RLC and the 45 other loaned players.
