I personally will not use Jordan Gauss for a 3x3
For 4x4 upwards definitely
Personally, I'd note that, for a 3x3 Matrix AA

A1=1det(A)adj(A)A^{-1} = \dfrac{1}{\det(A)} \text{ad}j(A)
