Is national 5 Spanish doable in 1 year?

I'm going into my last year of high school and am not sure what subjects to take. At the moment my subject choices have been pretty varietied. I was considering taking national 5 Spanish, but do you think that would be too hard to achieve in 1 year as I have not taken Spanish before? I am currently doing another foreign language at higher but don't think I would like to take that to an advanced higher level.
