There are a lot of students on here with similar difficulties who have received things like note takers, dictaphone, (voice recorder) software, etc. to help them.

Thanks Tiger Rag,

It is the case that some students may get that type of support to help them on their course. However, all the support we give is based on each student's individual need so what people get can vary, even if they have the same condition.

Hi there,

I'm afraid that you can't get discounts on laptops or other equipment from the DSA. If you need a computer to run specialist software (that you need because of your disability) and you don't already have one, we can offer you some funding towards the cost of a computer but you would need to pay the first £200 yourself.

Hope that helps

Is the £200 contribution just paid by Enlgish non-NHS funded students?

Hi,

The £200 contribution is for students who apply through Student Finance England only, so student's studying elsewhere in the UK and those that apply to the NHS don't need to make that contribution.

Hope that helps
