Education Personal Statement

I am intending to write my personal statement really soon as i have to adhere to a school deadline which is a week away. I intend to apply for education degrees, but am clueless to how to mention a mission trip in which I worked at a children's camp but feel that it would help increase my prospects. Does anyone have any ideas on how I should include the children's camp that I partook in as a leader. Help!

Just mention it like 'Last year I had the oppurtunity to participate in...' and say how you feel it will come in useful for an education degree, or what you learnt from the experience etc.
