The Remainers who defend this mockingly cry out that this is just an act of parliamentary sovereignty, but where were they for fourty years as national sovereignty was slowly surrendered to the EU? Where were they when our governments shamelessly signed the treaties of Maastricht and Lisbon? Nowhere to be seen, because they’re a bunch of spineless quislings looking to keep us in the EU through the back door. It is even sadder that this rebellion was enacted by those who call themselves Conservatives and in that regard the Tory party is need of a cleaning. Just as Labour under Corbyn is drying the party of the convictionless “moderates” who abandoned Labour’s core principles, the Conservative Party has to be ruthless and without compromise in ridding the party of our own convictionless centrist fifth column.
