Anyone know of improvements (since the 1960's to now) in the technology/ medicine of treating brain disorders/ dieseases?

well obviously there have been massive advances in brain imaging techniques which have helped research and treatment. Here is a link with a general overview:

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation can be used repeatedly as a form of therapy known as rTMS, supposedly yeilding similar results as ECT, but without the side-effects and permanent risk.
