Creative Zen MP3 player- how to revive?

My MP3 player hasn't been used in a long while. It was working though, after long periods before of ignoring it. Years and years. Now it seems to have died even when I plug it in, whereas it used to start charging.
Has anyone got an idea of what the problem might be or how to get it revived again?

Try it in different usb slots or access it through pc.
Just getting your pc to be able to read and play whats on it may revive it or it may be dead.
If you can access it then I suggest if you need the music then drag in onto the pc.
You can also see if there are any old posts on the support forums for creative.
