Careers in Finance After a Politics Degree

I’m about to start applying to university and ultimately want to end up in a career in finance. Im currently doing BTEC Business Level 3 and predicted D*D*D but due to it being a BTEC it makes it a lot harder for me. I would like to do an economics degree at a Russel Group uni but the BTEC limits me.

So I’m asking would a politics degree, which I enjoy and could get in much more easily, be a good route to get into a career in finance? This could be anything from investment banking to management consultancy. Thanks

Hey, I'm wondering the same thing. I've looked into it abit and it seems maybe abit harder to get into finance than if you did an economics degree, but if you focus on research and analysis in your degree then these skills would be useful to an employer in the financial sector.

Edit: just realised your post is from 2 years ago, did you end up choosing the politics degree?
