I came across this prayer a few months ago and now I pray it every night, I love it so much!

Instrument of your peace - St Francis of Assisi

Lord make me an instrument of you peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love,
Where there is injury, pardon,
Where there is doubt, faith,
Where there is despair, hope,
Where there is darkness, light,
Where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much
seek to be consoled as to console,
Not so much to be understood as to understand,
Not so much to be loved as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive,
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
It is in dying that we awake to eternal life.
Amen.

Have you heard the hymn inspired by this?

I've been to a variety of different churches with different ways of worship and service.

Where I go now we have:
Opening prayer and songs
Personal testimony from someone
Communion (Sundays)
2 or 3 gifts of tongues each with interpretation
2 or 3 prophecies
bible-based talk
prayer for needs
close and socialise

Hi, I hope it's alright if I join in  I'm younger than most I imagine, I'm in year 9, but I'm a Christian and love talking to other Christians!

Of course, I didn’t create this thread but I’m certain all ages are welcome 🤗

Luke 2:42,46-47 KJV

And when he was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem after the custom of the feast. [46] And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions. [47] And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers.

Thank you so much everyone for being so welcoming!

heldbygrace - I'm doing well thank you, I have some exams this week so I have been a little stressed (obviously they aren't serious) but generally I've been a lot closer to God since lockdown! I hope you're well?

Also, I haven't read through the whole thread yet so not sure if this has been discussed before, but if anyone has any books of the Bible that you recommend I would love to know, because since I wasn't particularly close to God before lockdown I'm fairly new to reading full books of the Bible!

Are you part of a church? They might be able to lend you some resources to get your started - for example, our Youth group look at the Bible togather which is a great way to learn.

Big churches also have resources online or youtube channels

Yes I am - we currently don't have a youth group for my age though, that stopped a couple of years ago unfortunately :frown:

Thanks for the link, I'll have a look!
It's my friend's ordination day! :awesome:

Also would like to draw your attention to the ordination to the C of E diaconate of a former TSR member (and former avid atheist. He used to neg rep me on here  ), @Diety . He hasn't used this site for many many years but I hope we can all hold him in our thoughts and prayers too

Have a blessed weekend, everyone! :h:

A bit late to the thread.
I am now planning to do bible study like a Chinese student preparing for Gaokao. This may be tough, but it may be worth it in the end as I must seek God almost all of the time, just like a Chinese Gaokao student who studies for as many as 15+ hours per day (but quantity wise I will not go to that extreme!)
I am also a pianist at grade 8 level. I would like to upload some hymn covers onto this thread so I can help you for some worship to God. The lyrics will also be attached to the cover.

You should read Philippians and Ephesians. I love them as they teach a lot of the principles of Christian life, and I can pray to God to help me achieve it.

According to Ephesians 4:28, as I have extra power to help others, I will release my revision materials online.
During the graduation ceremony rehearsal, when I rehearsed my bit of getting my award in academic achievement, I couldn't resist and cried out "This is for God!" on the stage.

Has anyone started serving at church recently?
I have started more serious duties since around 2017 in camp, and 2019 in the cell groups, which I started giving introductions to bible chapters. I am giving another one this Friday.
I also work in the gospel team, holding activities for kids and visiting their homes regularly.

It's great to hear how involved you are in your church's outreach and activities!

My church has put out a call for new people for the readings rota. I think I'd be good at it if I were able to go to church but I'm not, so can't volunteer myself :frown:
