🍀😭📖A level stress, becoming an adult, growing up 📖😭🍀 - a blog by plasticplants

Who am I?:
My name is George. I'm a 18 year old girl who lives in the South of England. I'm taking Maths, Geography and Chemistry for A levels, and I'm taking them a year late because I switched subjects. I am homeschooled, because I have strict parents. I don't like it, but I didn't put up much of a protest when I was younger because my mum isn't very emotionally stable, and I always try to protect her and avoid conflict.
Fortunately, I have a handful of good friends, so I don't have a problem with socialising etc. My friends are all in school, so it helps keep me as close to normal as I can get.

Why am I writing a blog:
I am beyond stressed for A levels this year. Trying to learn everything with teachers has been extremely difficult for me, and I feel as though no matter how hard I try in these next 70 days, I will never be good enough for A levels. So I thought having a blog might help me. Perhaps I can meet some others here who are also stressed. We can be stressed together haha.
It doesn't really matter if no one reads it, it's mostly for me to calm myself down. But if you happen to come by, do say hi!!

I'll probably mostly talk about how my revision is going, any events that happen in my life and maybe sometimes about my mental health (Im not diagnosed with any mental illnesses or anything, but we all have good days and bad days right?). Feel free to talk about your life too!!

Edit: 19 years old now lol

Now, so far on the 21st of February: I stayed over at my mate's last night, and only got back to mine just before lunch. since then I've not done any studying, just sat at my desk and stressed about studying. Hence the decision to start this blog. So now that I've had a little cry, I think I'm ready to start studying. I need to put together a case study for Geography on the Europe floods in 2021. I'm focusing on Germany. I also need to finish some Chemistry write-ups from the practicals I did last week, and hopefully get two maths worksheets done. Honestly, I'm not feeling very focused, so I might put a film on for a bit while I study. Probably not the best idea, but after the film I try to switch to some study music. If I study in silence I easily start daydreaming haha
Ok so quick morning update. I ended up doing barely any work yesterday and watching Netflix instead ugh. Honestly I was just in a really bad mood. But today I'm feeling motivated and I'm gonna get a lot of work done. Starting by doing a Chemistry practice paper. Honestly not expecting it to go well but I need to figure out which topics need the most revision.
Im getting started so late because somehow slept through all my alarms?!? :congrats:
Ok so I just completed the chemistry practice paper and omg there are so many gaps in my knowledge. I actually completed it with 20 minutes to spare just because I didn't know so much. But that's fine - the whole point of this paper was to identify the gaps in my knowledge. At least I will know where to focus on after this. My guess is bonding and trends in the periodic table and stuff like that. I'm not going to mark it right now, I'm kinda bored of it so I'm gonna do some geography for an hour then go back to chemistry to mark it. I have a feeling today is going to be chaotic. But at least I'm doing better than yesterday so far haha

Oh dear, I hope you're feeling better!
Good luck on the interview! What's it for? Uni or a job?
Ugh I'm trying to get this geography case study done and it's going so slowly. I hate doing case studies cos I never know if I'm learning it correctly, if I've found the right information or if I should just have stuck with the one from the book. But I should be finished with it soon.
Watching this thread. Good luck!

Yeah GCSEs are soooo stressful ahhh. There is so many subjects as well. You'll get through it though!!

Also great A level choices! I enjoy chemistry (though now that it's close to exams every subject just makes me stressed lol) and my friends who took psy and bio were all happy with their choices so there's that.

Not bad choices tbh. Should give you some career options at least! Yeah, choosing what you want to do with your life is so difficult. That's way I'm taking a gap year next year (or is this just me procrastinating the inevitable desicions I will have to make?? :s-smilie:)
