why does it still exist if it stopped a few years ago?
In England it stopped being used as part of an A level qualification. However, it can still be taken as a standalone qualification, earning UCAS points and providing those who want to learn more about a subject without taking a full A level the opportunity to do so.
Also, it's still used as 40% of a full A level in locations other than England.
