I'm looking through the specification for AQA A Level Biology and I am having difficulty finding anything regarding the carbon cycle in there:

Carbon cycle does come up in international A Level Biology with OxfordAQA:

If you're based in the UK and doing the UK version of AQA A Level, you can skip details on the carbon cycle. If you're doing International A Level with Oxford AQA, then you would need to know about it.
